Philosophy
My philosophy on technology integration is that it is necessary for all aspects of our education system as technology is advancing every day in some way and it provides a more efficient means of getting tasks done. Using technology, things that took a long time to complete have now been done in a lot less time. The use of calculators to solve math problems and using the Internet to conduct research are just a couple of the advantages of technology and how it can be beneficial. With the use of new technologies in our schools, we have resolved to carry out our work within the public arena with compassion, justice and concern for the common good (Grand Canyon University, 2020).
Establishing a Personal Learning Network is something every educator should create and use. There are many benefits to using a PLN with a very important piece being the ability to collaborate with anyone not just in your school setting but from around the world. Hearing different aspects of what has worked and not worked with technologies and subject matter gives valuable insight and helps promote a better learning environment as a student, educator and a coach.
My philosophy on technology integration from a students point of view is that it is a concept that allows a student to be more proficient at conducting research, organizing data and for creating works that are detailed and accurate. My philosophy on technology integration regarding being a coach is to collaborate with others by establishing relationships with educators to improve instructional practice and learning outcomes (ISTE-C, 2017). Collaboration is important in staying up to date with current trends and how you can improve your craft. Working with others can provide a wider range of ideas, what has worked or not worked for students and build a base with educators from around the world. This will also lead to being a connected learner and change agent for the benefit of both staff and students.
